Bush visits Brazil

(These pictures not taken by me)

from knuttz.net
This was a stunning gallery of photos
, especially the bottom half of the page. If you don't have a good ad-blocker and popup blocker it may be annoying though.

Bush was also recently warmly welcomed in Guatamala

Origami Pset

Aninna helped me fold up my ginormous PSet into an origami bird. Here's me turning it in to none other than the famous carboxyl.

Latest PSet done on ginormous paper

I typically refuse to do psets but i really want to learn sensors and micro controllers so im bighting bullets. This ginormous sized PSet paper is pictured next to a regular sized Annina to give a feel for how ginormous the paper really is.

Facilitorials

Just finished writing this "demo" paper for IDC 2007. It's about facilitorials, which are tutorials that act more like facilitators. It was really hard for me to write. I felt a little exposed making up a new word like that. I really do think tutorials need major overhauling though. I don't need to know step by step how to do everything. Just give me the feel of how things work so I can experiment and get to know the... software... for example. Anyway, enough writing about that topic for tonight, and it's double way past my bedtime.

Romie being sarcastic at brunch

Jodi said, "there's a great place to study in the student center with floor to ceiling windows," with a tone as if to imply that she knew about a fantastic secret no one else knew about. Little did she know Romie had already been there with me the other day, so he said "really how novel" in a super sarcastic voice mimmicking a particularly fancy British man. This is what his face looked like while saying it.

Jodi lauging about "butt butt"

So there's this thing called a buttbutt. I call Jodi a buttbutt a lot and I don't think she knew what it was. In fact a buttbutt is a fully functioning miniature butt which is embedded in a regular size butt. That is, a buttbutt is the butt of a butt, or a butt's butt, or a butt on a butt. So I drew her a picture of her being a buttbutt and emailed it to her at Luna Cafe. When she opened the email this is what she looked like.

50 sufis holding hands chanting dancing

Unfortunately this picture was taken 10 minutes after the dancing stopped. Some of the more amazing dance moves were the "move your hands from your heart outwards" to spread the love from your heart to others, "open your hands from your heart to open your lotus and then meet your hands on your partner's hands and turn", and the "bow to your partner with your hands in prayer" move. So imagine the normal yoga'ish chanting mixed with contra dancing, mixed with fun people.

Jodi's birthday today

The poster says "World's best techer" among other fantastic things. Her first grade class at the Atrium school made it for her.

Infinite corridore

Mit's infinite corridore. What a scary name. And while im on it why call all your classes and buildings by numbers? It might be cute for pr but people have to make their lives out of it for several years.

Maya and I scrounged this tree

We got the tree for my lab -- the cube. Next week we're planting 40 ivy plants in my lab as part of an effort to improve the air, lighting, and general feel of the place. It's a great place in terms of creativity and people, it could just use a little fluffiness and oxygen.

Our mirror fountain

I like how you can see yourself through the water. It is like looking through a waterfall. I like to think that all of life can be seen as though from behind a waterfall.
